After six intense games, the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers comes down to one final showdown. Detroit forced Game 7 with an impressive 115-94 victory in Cleveland, snapping the Cavaliers’ previously undefeated home playoff record and completely shifting the momentum of the series.

The Pistons delivered one of their most complete performances of the postseason in Game 6. Detroit shot 52% from the field and connected on 44% from three-point range while dominating the physical battle throughout the night. Cade Cunningham once again led the way with 21 points, but the biggest development was the emergence of Jalen Duren.

Duren produced arguably his best game of the playoffs, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks while controlling the paint defensively. His energy and rim protection completely disrupted Cleveland’s offensive rhythm and helped Detroit overwhelm the Cavaliers inside.

Cleveland now faces enormous pressure heading into a hostile environment. James Harden led the Cavaliers with 23 points in Game 6, while Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley struggled to consistently generate offense against Detroit’s aggressive perimeter defense. The Cavaliers’ supporting cast also failed to provide enough production, especially from the bench unit.

One major storyline entering Game 7 is whether Cleveland can finally handle Detroit’s defensive intensity on the road. The Cavaliers have struggled badly away from home throughout the playoffs, while the Pistons have consistently elevated their physicality and energy level in Detroit.

Detroit’s defensive identity has become the defining factor of the series. Ausar Thompson continues to pressure opposing guards relentlessly, Tobias Harris has provided veteran stability, and Cunningham has repeatedly delivered in clutch situations. The Pistons are now one win away from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals after finishing as the No. 1 seed in the conference.

Injury concerns could also play a role. Duncan Robinson, Kevin Huerter, and Caris LeVert are all listed as questionable for Detroit, though Robinson played effectively in Game 6 despite dealing with back discomfort.
