NBA Games on TV – Friday, May 8, 2026 (ET)
The NBA Conference Semifinals continue Friday night with Game 3 action shifting venues in both series. Philadelphia returns home desperately needing a win against New York, while Minnesota looks to regain momentum against San Antonio in front of its home crowd.
🏀 Game of the Day: San Antonio Spurs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (Game 3)
9:30 PM ET | Prime Video
The Western Conference Semifinals head to Minneapolis with the series tied 1-1 after San Antonio responded emphatically in Game 2. The Spurs controlled the pace early and capitalized on Minnesota’s cold shooting night to even the series heading into a crucial Game 3.
Despite the blowout loss, Minnesota remains confident returning home, where the Timberwolves have been excellent throughout the postseason. Their physical defense and veteran playoff experience continue to give them belief that they can reclaim control of the series.
Naz Reid could become a major factor tonight after San Antonio adjusted its defensive approach in Game 2. Minnesota’s spacing and ball movement are typically much stronger at home, and the Timberwolves expect a more efficient offensive performance in front of their fans.
The Spurs remain dangerous because of their discipline, transition offense, and ability to limit mistakes. However, Minnesota’s home-court advantage and urgency create a very different atmosphere compared to the opening two games in San Antonio.
Why It’s the Game of the Day: A tied series, contrasting styles, and one of the loudest playoff crowds in basketball make this the most important game of the night.
Prediction: Minnesota responds with a stronger offensive showing and takes a 2-1 series lead at Target Center.
New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers (Game 3)
7:00 PM ET | Prime Video
The series shifts to Philadelphia with the 76ers trailing 0-2 after another difficult fourth quarter collapse in Game 2. Philadelphia competed for much of the night before New York’s defense and late-game execution once again proved decisive.
The Sixers now return home searching for momentum behind Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and rookie standout VJ Edgecombe. Philadelphia has already shown resilience earlier in these playoffs after rallying from a 3-1 deficit against Boston in Round 1.
New York enters Game 3 riding one of the most dominant playoff stretches in franchise history. The Knicks’ combination of physical defense, rebounding, and transition scoring has overwhelmed opponents throughout the postseason.
Prediction: Philadelphia plays with greater desperation at home, but New York’s depth and confidence continue to give the Knicks the edge.
Friday night’s playoff schedule features two critical swing games as the pressure rises in both Conference Semifinal matchups.
