Cleveland Cavaliers vs Washington Wizards Preview, What to Watch

In a matchup between the NBA's top and bottom teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers travel to Washington to play the Washington Wizards. While their hosts are at the bottom of the conference, the Cavaliers come into this game with the best record in the East. Continue reading to see our prediction for this game.

This season, the Washington Wizards are playing at their best right now. For the first time this season, Brian Keefe's team has won three straight games.

A shocking 105-103 win in Minnesota to end a 16-game losing streak kicked off this run. The Wizards defeated the Nets 119-102 in their most recent game, their first home game following three away games.

The team's top rebounder, Jonas Valanciunas, and second-leading scorer, Kyle Kuzma, have been traded out.

Washington's 9-41 record is the poorest in the league.

In their last 11 meetings with the Wizards, the Cavaliers have prevailed. They are aiming for a clean sweep for the third straight season after winning three of them this season.

With 41 victories in 51 games, Kenny Atkinson's team is having a fantastic season and now holds the second-best record in the league. Last time out, the Cavaliers defeated the Pistons 118-115 to resume their winning ways.

De'Andre Hunter from the Hawks was acquired by Cleveland as part of the just finished trade market. Caris LeVert is replaced by Hunter, who averages over 20 points each game.

San Antonio Spurs vs Charlotte Hornets Preview, What to Watch

San Antonio Spurs out De'Aaron Fox to give the Hornets their seventh consecutive defeat.

On Friday night, De'Aaron Fox and the San Antonio Spurs will aim to cut short the Charlotte Hornets' one last opportunity to try to salvage a lengthy homestand.

Fox, who was traded from the Sacramento Kings earlier this week, will play in his second game with the Spurs.

On Wednesday night, the Spurs defeated Atlanta 126-125 to end a two-game losing streak. Fox finished with a game-high 13 assists and 24 points, sharing team scoring honors. The game-winning free throw was made by second-year sensation Victor Wembanyama, who also finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds.

The Hornets' most recent loss, a 112-102 loss to the visiting Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, is the sixth in a row.

Prior to the official clearance of the transfer of center Mark Williams to the Los Angeles Lakers for guard Dalton Knecht, forward Cam Reddish, a 2031 unprotected first-round draft pick, and a trade of 2030 first-round picks, Charlotte is also in a transitional phase.

In exchange for forward Cody Martin, guard Vasilije Micic, and a 2026 second-round pick, the Hornets also acquired center Jusuf Nurkic and a 2026 first-round pick from the Phoenix Suns.

Charlotte's nine-game homestand will come to a conclusion with this game; the Hornets are 1-7 throughout this run.

The Hornets had plenty to worry about following Thursday afternoon's trade deadline, let alone any potential trade ramifications.

LaMelo Ball has missed time due to his most recent ankle injury, but he may make a comeback versus San Antonio. The Hornets' backcourt has been impacted by ailments. He has a dubious rating.

Positively, after missing time due to illness and playing in the G League, Tidjane Salaun made his first appearance on the field in almost three weeks on Wednesday. Following an impressive comeback (10 points, four rebounds in 22 minutes), Lee stated that it will be interesting to watch if he keeps improving.

Wembanyama, who is scoring 24.6 points per game on average this season, scored 26 points in a home victory over the Hornets last season despite missing San Antonio's defeat in Charlotte as a rookie.

The teams will meet for the first time this season.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Detroit Pistons Preview, What to Watch

The Philadelphia 76ers may be catching the Detroit Pistons at an unfavorable moment.

The Sixers' big three—Tyrese Maxey, Paul George, and Joel Embiid—rarely play together this season because of injuries. But when Philadelphia travels to Detroit on Friday, there's a decent possibility those trio will be in the starting lineup. Only ten times in 50 games have the 76ers seen the three players share the court. In those games, Philadelphia has a 7-3 record.

After missing a month because of knee problems, Embiid made his comeback on Tuesday. In a 118-116 victory over visiting Dallas, he produced a triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Embiid missed the second game of a back-to-back on Wednesday. George, who signed with Philadelphia as the top free agent available last season, has been limited to 31 games due to various injuries, but he only scored nine points in 32 minutes as the host Sixers lost to Miami. If Embiid plays on Friday, it will only be the 15th time he has appeared on the court this season. Maxey has played in 43 of the team's 50 games and has been on a scoring rampage, scoring 28 points or more in 16 straight games and averaging over 32 points in that time.

In Philadelphia's two games versus Detroit this season, Maxey has averaged 30 points, and both teams have won on the road. The season series will be decided by the game on Friday.

The Pistons have lost five of their last seven games, including a heartbreaking loss to Cleveland, the Eastern Conference leader, on Wednesday. They have also lost two in a row. After Detroit overcame an eight-point deficit in the final two minutes, Darius Garland of the Cavaliers made the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to win 118-115.

All-Star With 38 points and nine assists, Cade Cunningham did everything in his power to save his team. Before Garland's dagger, he tied the game with three free throws in the final seconds.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Atlanta Hawks Preview, What to Watch

When the Milwaukee Bucks finish their three-game road trip on Friday by playing the Hawks in Atlanta, they want to see two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo return to the starting lineup.

The past two games have been played without Antetokounmpo. He was a late scratch on Wednesday due to tightness in his left calf and did not play on Monday due to pain in his right knee. When the players were announced, he was brought to the locker room, even though he had gone through warmups and was in the starting lineup.

The Bucks defeated Charlotte 112-102 on Wednesday to snap a four-game losing run and win sans Antetokounmpo.

After snapping an eight-game losing run on Monday, the Hawks were unable to build on their victory and fell to San Antonio 126-125 on Wednesday.

The two teams will meet for the third time this season. On December 4, the Hawks defeated the Bucks 119-104 on the road. However, ten days later, in the NBA Cup semifinal in Las Vegas, Milwaukee won 110-102. The last two encounters in Atlanta were won by Milwaukee.

Antetokounmpo averages 12.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 31.8 points, which is second in the league. He has averaged 23.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 37 games versus Atlanta in his career. In the season's first two matchups with Atlanta, he scored 31 and 32 points, respectively.

On Wednesday, Bobby Portis contributed 23 points and 17 rebounds, while Damian Lillard picked up the slack with 29 points and 12 assists.

During the trade deadline, the Bucks acquired three new players. In return for Khris Middleton and AJ Johnson, Milwaukee obtained Kyle Kuzma and Patrick Baldwin Jr. from Washington. In place of Delon Wright, they also acquired backup center Jericho Sims from New York.

Atlanta's most noteworthy trade was to send De'Andre Hunter, the team's second-leading scorer, to Cleveland in exchange for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks, and two picks.

In his greatest performance of the season, Onyeka Okongwu of the Hawks scored a career-high 30 points against San Antonio, shooting 13-of-16 from the field and 3-for-5 from 3-point range, along with 12 rebounds and five assists. This season, he became the first Hawk to finish a game with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

The team's 2020 first-round selection, Oknongwu, has started the previous ten games and taken Clint Capela's place at center. During that time, he is averaging 14.3 points, 9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.4 steals.

Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets Preview, What to Watch

The Miami Heat are glad that they were able to acquire a younger rotation player for the irate star, and they can now put the protracted Jimmy Butler story behind them.

The Heat will make their second trip to the Brooklyn Nets in less than two weeks on Friday after losing to Butler to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Butler said he didn't want to play for Golden State, whom he helped get to the NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023, thus Miami acquired Andrew Wiggins and Kyle Anderson from Golden State. Due to three team bans for insubordination, Butler only made five appearances after December 20 and played in just 25 games this season, averaging 17 points per game.

Wiggins will join Bam Adebayo, who has averaged 23.6 points per game over his last five games, in Miami's starting frontcourt. Adebayo finished with 18 points in Miami's 108-101 victory at Philadelphia on Wednesday after scoring 17 points in the team's 9-point victory over Brooklyn on January 25. Adebayo had scored at least 20 points in four consecutive games.

In 2014, Wiggins was the main player in a trade that paired LeBron James and Kevin Love between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves. He was averaging 17.6 points in 43 games (all starts) this season, having played with Golden State for the previous five or more seasons.

Wiggins will be integrated into a squad that has been doing well recently when he joins the team.

After eight losses in 12 games, the Heat won for the fourth time in six games on Wednesday thanks to 30 points from Tyler Herro.

The Nets are 1-12 in their last 13 home games, but Miami has won both of their meetings with them. D'Angelo Russell's game-winning 3-pointer in Tuesday's 99-97 victory over the Houston Rockets ended an 11-game home losing run. However, the Nets suffered a 119-102 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, ending their second three-game winning streak of the season.

Brooklyn had one of its worst defensive performances, letting the Wizards shoot 46.5 percent from 3-point range (20 of 43) and 54.3 percent from the field (44 of 81).

With 25 points, Keon Johnson maintained his recent scoring trend. He has scored 20 points or more in four of his last seven games, including a 22-point performance against Miami in their previous encounter.

At the deadline, Cameron Johnson was still with the Nets. Johnson scored 17 points in 25 minutes after missing six games due to a sprained right ankle.

Toronto Raptors vs Oklahoma City Thunder Preview, What to Watch

The Toronto Raptors will host the Oklahoma City Thunder in their upcoming NBA game. The Thunder have the best record in the Western Conference going into this game, while their opponents are in third place in the East. Continue reading to see our prediction for this game.

The Thunder finished with the best record in the NBA after winning their last three games. In their 49 games, Chris Daigneualt's team has won 40 of them.

They recently defeated the Suns 140-109 at home in a decisive game. In Toronto, OKC prevailed 129-92 in the rematch.

The Raptors have finished a brief two-game homestand with a resounding 138-107 loss to the Grizzlies. They had lost three of their last four games and for the second time in a row.

The form that has made Darko Rajakovic's team one of the worst this season has returned. The Raptors had a five-game winning streak and had won seven of their last eight games before to this most recent collapse.

During the just-ended trade window, Toronto made moves. James Wiseman and Brandon Ingram were acquired by the team, however neither player will be available for selection due to injury.

Bruce Brown, Davion Mitchell, and Kelly Olynyk have departed, and R.J. Barrett and Jakob Poeltl are sidelined by injuries.

Utah Jazz vs Phoenix Suns Preview, What to Watch

The 10th-place Phoenix Suns play the 14th-place Utah Jazz on Friday night in a matchup between two Western Conference clubs. The Suns had a 25–25 record going into this game, while the Jazz have the third-worst record in the league (12–37). Let us begin the forecast of the match.

It's an odd moment for the Suns, whose locker room may be in disarray. Before the trade deadline ended on February 6th, they reportedly made a concerted effort to get go of Bradley Beal and then 15-time All-Star Kevin Durant.

It's unclear how the remainder of the season will unfold with a squad that is underperforming and several players who may be unhappy.

After a crushing 140-109 road loss to the Thunder on Wednesday, Phoenix has now lost three straight games.

The Clippers are only three games behind the hosts in sixth place, but they now occupy the final play-in position due to the narrow margins separating the competitive Western Conference.

Utah will be feeling quite confident going into this game because they have won two of their last three games, including a 131–128 victory over the Warriors at home.

Walker Kessler finished with 15 points, three blocks, and 18 rebounds, dominating the boards. This season, the Jazz have actually performed better away from home, winning seven of their 12 games.
