Denver Nuggets vs Detroit Pistons Preview, What to Watch

The NBA cross-conference game between the Detroit Pistons (33-26) and the Denver Nuggets (38-21) is scheduled for Friday at Little Caesars Arena.  The Nuggets are ranked third in the Western Conference and sixth in the Eastern Conference.  This is our prediction for the match.

The Detroit Pistons are full of confidence going into this game.  Following two straight losses to the Hawks and Cavaliers in early February, the hosts are now riding an eight-game winning run.

The Pistons defeated the Boston Celtics 117-97 at home in their most recent game.  They hadn't defeated the Celtics since February 02, 2022, when they won 112-111.

The club has won four straight games at home, demonstrating their strong start to the season.

They have lost four straight games against the Nuggets at home, though.

In their most recent game against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Denver Nuggets did not live up to their expectations as favorites.  They were defeated 121–112 on the road.

The team's triple-double was led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.  He had 10 assists, 14 rebounds, and 32 points.  Jamal Murray scored 20 points as well.

The Nuggets continue to be a reliable team in the NBA despite a few minor setbacks.  In their last 12 games, they have won ten of them.  They have a 1-4 record away from home and could pose a challenge to the Pistons in this game.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics Preview, What to Watch

In a game between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference rankings, the Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to the Boston Celtics on Friday night in an attempt to extend their winning run to eight games.

Despite having a 6.5-game lead over Boston, Cleveland has dropped two of their three meetings with the Celtics this season.  Boston won 120-117 at home on November 19 and 112-105 away from Cleveland on February 4.  The NBA's top-seeded Cleveland team defeated the Celtics 115-111 at home on December 1.

When the Cavaliers and Celtics play in the playoffs, Atkinson stated he has no intention of using a formulaic strategy to hide anything.

Boston lost to the Detroit Pistons 117-97 on the road on Wednesday, ending their six-game winning streak.  The Celtics had not scored 100 points or more for the fifth time this season.  The Celtics' 12-point field goal total in the defeat is the fewest the team has ever made in a single game in the team's existence.

Against the Pistons, Boston was missing Luke Kornet (personal reasons) and Jaylen Brown (left thigh injury).  Kornet averages 17.2 minutes and 5.2 points per game, whereas Brown is the team's second-leading scorer (22.9 points per game).

Since the Celtics won the NBA title the previous season, Jayson Tatum stated that they must perform at their peak or almost so in every game if they are to win.

Since the Cavaliers acquired De'Andre Hunter from the Hawks, he has averaged 14 points per game and shot 50% from the field.

Boston will begin a seven-game homestand with the game on Friday.  This season, the Celtics are 24-7 on the road and 18-10 at home.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Atlanta Hawks Preview, What to Watch

In Friday's NBA cross-conference game, the Atlanta Hawks (27-32) will host the Oklahoma City Thunder (47-11) at the State Farm Arena.  The Thunder are in the lead in the Western Conference, and the Hawks are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.  This is our prediction for the match.

The Miami Heat and the Atlanta Hawks recently faced off in the NBA.  They shot 37.5% from three-point range in that game, while their opponents shot 54.8%, and they lost 131-109.

With 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists, Dyson Daniels was the team's top scorer.  Trae Young and Caris LeVert each scored 17 points.  Their team's field goal percentage was 50.6%, while their opponents' was 59.2%.

Lately, the Hawks have not been playing well.  They had lost their last four games and only won one of their last five going into this encounter.

In contrast, the Oklahoma City Thunder avoided what might have been a disastrous outcome against the Brooklyn Nets.

Despite being outscored in the first and second quarters, the Thunder swiftly recovered in the final two to win 129-121 on the road.

Right now, the visitors are among the most popular teams in the West.  They had won ten of their previous twelve games going into this matchup.

New York Knicks vs Memphis Grizzlies Preview, What to Watch

Big player Karl-Anthony Towns had a knee injury, and the New York Knicks are hoping he recovers quickly.

If Mikal Bridges plays as well as he did against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, they might be able to get by without him until then.  Bridges took over Towns' scoring early on, scoring 19 points in the first quarter and 28 points in the final, 110-105 triumph.

The Knicks, who have won 11 straight games, will play the Grizzlies on Friday in Memphis. The Grizzlies defeated the Phoenix Suns 151-148 at home in overtime on Tuesday.

It is unclear if Towns will be available for the game against the Grizzlies.

Prior to the game against the 76ers, he was labeled as questionable, however he did not participate.  He sustained the injury on Sunday during a 118-105 loss to Boston, and was later diagnosed with patellar tendinopathy of the left knee.

During the fourth quarter against the Celtics, Towns hobbled to the locker room but didn't return fully recovered.

Bridges had his best game against the 76ers since he scored 28 points in a 143-106 victory against the Grizzlies on January 27.  Bridges shot 12 of 18 in the Philadelphia game, including 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.  In addition, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau praised him for his two thefts and two rebounds.

According to ESPN on Thursday, center Ariel Hukporti, who started in place of Towns on Wednesday, is projected to miss four to six weeks due to a damaged meniscus in his left knee.  Hukporti, a rookie who played 16 minutes and scored 8 points and pulled down 2 rebounds, made his first career start.

The Grizzlies are trying to stay in the running for the second seed in the Western Conference, which is currently held by Oklahoma City.  Memphis needed star Ja Morant when it mattered most, and he delivered in their overtime victory over Phoenix, which had the highest scoring game in the NBA this season (299 points).
